  • To investigate freeze–thaw cycle effects on the energy dissipation and strength characteristics of cement soils under impact loading, impact compression tests were carried out using a split Hopkinson pressure bar on cement soils under various freeze–thaw cycles (0, 1, 3, 6 and 10 times). The Zhu–Wang–Tang (ZWT) model was modified to predict the relationship between deformation and strength in cement soils under various test conditions. The obtained test results revealed that the freeze–thaw cycle number and impact pressure had significant effects on the fractal dimension, strength

Removal Effect of Phosphate Reduction System Enhanced by Biological Fillers

  • To optimize the bioretention mixed fillers with better removal of phosphorus, this paper studies the adsorption characteristics of single filler and modified mixed filler through static adsorption experiments, and adopts the dynamical mini-column experiments to examine the adsorption capacities of the soil and modified mixed fillers. Results show that, in the static adsorption experiments, both water treatment residual (WTR) and fly ash exhibit good adsorption capacity when used as a single filler and modifier. Adsorption capacity increases with increasing WTR and fly ash dosage in the mixe

Evaluation of the Interaction Between Asphalt and Mineral Powder and Analysis of its Influence Mechanism

  • Although shear strength plays an important role in the performance of asphalt mixtures, it is still not adopted as a control index in traditional asphalt pavement structure design. Among most shear strength tests, the shape of specimen damage in the uniaxial penetration test and circle shear test proved to be more accurate in reflecting the practical asphalt pavement damage shape. To explore the impact of material composition on the shear performance of asphalt mixtures under different test conditions, uniaxial penetration tests, circle shear tests, and unconfined compressive strength tests

fluorides; sodium nitrates; flux; fluorite; inorganic synthesis

  • This study experimentally investigates vibration-based approaches for fault diagnosis of automotive gearboxes. The primary objective is to identify methods that can detect gear-tooth cracks, a common fault in gearboxes. Vibrational signals were supervised on a gearbox test rig under different operating conditions of gears with three symmetrical crack depths (1, 2, and 3 mm). The severity of the gear-tooth cracks was predicted from the vibrational signal dataset using an artificial feedforward multilayer neural network with backpropagation (NNBP). The vibration amplitudes were the greatest w

Preparation of Calcined 5A Zeolite Modified with Sodium Nitrate and Its Adsorption for Cr3 +

  • The preparation of NaLnF4 complexes, LnF3 (Ln = La, Ce, Y) rare earth binary fluorides, CaF2 and SrF2 alkali earth fluorides, as well as mixtures of these compounds from their nitrates dissolved in molten NaNO3 has been studied in order to select the ideal solvent for fluoride synthesis by spontaneous crystallization from flux. Sodium fluoride (NaF) was used as a fluorinating agent. The results of our experiments have confirmed that NaNO3 melt is one of the most promising media for precipitating said inorganic fluoride materials within a broad temperature range (300–500 °С). Also, in co
